If I accomplish everything I want to this month… it will be EPIC. You can imagine that I’m super busy, so let’s get straight to this week’s happy hour. Here we go!
Great TV Show
Addicted To Hardcore Pawn: Ben Settle recently revealed he hones his copywriting chops by watching negotiations on the TV show, Hardcore Pawn.
I checked it out and it’s pretty entertaining, my girlfriend even came around when I described it as “shopping.” (See, I was using negotiation/copywriting tactics on her.)
Nailed-It Blog Post
Michelle Macphearson is on my shortlist of blogs in my RSS reader. Here’s another telling productivity post that demonstrates why: Too Busy Shipping To Care.
From My Life:
Meeting up with my sisters and their spouses tonight to play Ticket To Ride. If you want to make a leap from lame games like Monopoly and Sorry to the “German” style boardgames that win awards, this is supposed to be a great first game to do it. I wouldn’t know, however, since tonight will be my first time playing it. Cheers!
Song To Start Your Weekend
This was an easy choice 🙂
Great clip, Stephen. The Beatles were decades ahead of their time.
Michelle’s post was pretty good, too. Funny thing is that I picked up another pack of yellow tablets when I was out today. While computers, networks, and the Internet have been very good to me, I still use “analog” systems for to-do lists, calendars, and the like.
Oh, and I hardly ever turn on my cell phone. I’d give it up except they assigned me a really neat number when I bought it (sorry, can’t post it here…).
Have a great weekend,
Tom
I’ve taken to pen and paper lately too, which is funny because I recently made fun of that in a post. But it’s because I’m missing notepad on this new laptop I got, and that was the tool I used most for planning and so forth.
Using pen and paper for my to do lists has been great – I do like it.
Cheers Tom – how you doing on the Ready Spaghetti challenge?
Gotta get two more ebooks done by Wednesday; part of a list building giveaway. I’m also working on a membership / email consulting-type “deal” and a few other things. In general, things are picking up and I’m keeping myself profitably busy. Hope to be in a position soon where quitting my job is an option (but I’m one of the few that has a great job… When the time comes, though, I’ll know it).
